Souwest Magnetech Samarium Cobalt Magnets Supplier

Samarium cobalt magnets (also known as SmCo magnets): one of the two types of rare earth magnets is a strong permanent magnet made of an alloy of samarium and cobalt. They were developed in the early 1970s. They are generally the second-strongest type of magnet made, less strong than neodymium magnets, but have higher temperature ratings. They are expensive, brittle, and prone to cracking and chipping. Samarium-cobalt magnets have maximum energy products (BHmax) that range from 16 megagauss-oersteds (MGOe) to 32 MGOe; their theoretical limit is 34 MGOe. They are available in two ''series'', namely Series 1:5 and Series 2:17. If you want to know more about samarium cobalt magnets, Please contact Souwest Magnetech magnetic materials supplier for samarium cobalt magnet grade and samarium cobalt magnet price.

Souwest Magnetech Samarium Cobalt Magnets Features & Characteristics

Souwest Magnetech Samarium Cobalt Magnets Features & Characteristics

Samarium Cobalt Magnets (SmCo) magnets feature excellent temperature stability while retaining their magnetic properties under extreme temperature conditions. Thus, these samarium cobalt rare earth magnets are very suitable for applications involving high or extremely low temperatures.

SmCo magnets have high coercivity (Hci) to resist demagnetization.

SmCo magnets have good corrosion resistance. Sm1Co5 does not rust because it does not contain iron. However, Sm2Co17 should be coated with a protective coating in very wet conditions to minimize the risk of surface corrosion. However, Sm1Co5 does not rust because it does not contain iron.

What Are The Differences Between Smco Magnets and Ndfeb Magnets?

  • Temperature Resistance
    Temperature Resistance

SMCO magnets can be used at a higher temperature than NdFeB magnets, up to 300 degrees Celsius or more.

  • Higher Performance
    Higher Performance

Above 180 degrees Celsius, SmCo magnets start to provide higher performance than NdFeB magnets.
